Why did you become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon?

“I was drawn to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery when I saw before and after repair pictures of children with cleft lip and palate. I saw how these kids and their families were smiling from ear to ear and I knew I wanted to somehow be a part of a change like that.” – Dr. Dashow

How can a patient get the most out of seeing you?

“I always encourage patients and their families to come to their consult and follow up appointments with a list of as many questions as they can think of. As a surgeon, I can’t always change the circumstances for a patient but I have never had a patient tell me they were upset because I spent extra time explaining, reassuring or just listening.” – Dr. Dashow
