Socket/Ridge Preservation

Socket/Ridge Preservation

When a failing tooth requires extraction, your surgeon can help you plan for future implant placement by making sure there is adequate bone in your extraction socket to hold an implant after the surgical wound has healed. At the time of your tooth extraction, your surgeon will place donor bone graft (see bone grafting) and a biodegradable barrier membrane within your extraction socket, decreasing the need for future bone grafting procedures.
